Watson Inform Technologycloud migration consulting
What does a cloud migration consultant actually do for a business like mine?

We look at what you run today, work out what belongs in the cloud and what should stay put, then plan the move in stages. You get a written plan, costs, and someone to talk to when decisions get awkward.

We are a small team with no cloud skills at all. Is that a problem?

Not at all. Most of our clients start exactly there. We handle the technical work and explain each step in plain language, so your team ends up comfortable running things day to day.

How long does a typical migration take from first call to finished?

It depends on how much you run and how much downtime you can accept. A straightforward set of systems can move in a few weeks. Larger estates with strict uptime needs take a few months, planned around your quiet periods.

Will moving to the cloud cost us more than our current setup?

Sometimes it costs less, sometimes it costs about the same, and occasionally it costs more if you need better resilience. We give you honest figures up front, including the running costs people often forget to add.

What happens to our data during the move, and is it safe?

Your data is copied and verified before anything is switched off, so the original stays untouched until you are happy. Access is locked down, transfers are encrypted, and we agree the rules with you before we start.

Can you work alongside our existing IT provider or internal team?

Yes, and we often do. We can lead the whole project, or simply advise while your people carry out the work. Either way we document everything so nobody is left holding an unexplained system.
